This week I worked on some small accent vignettes. Just by pairing a few items together, such as small framed pictures, potted plants or greenery, books, or architectural pieces, can add a touch of creativity to a vignette.
Sometimes small and simple, can make a big difference, by varying the height of your objects you find around your home. I usually try and work with a triangular display pattern. By this, it draws your eye up to the highest part of your grouping, then drawing your eye down to the other side. This is what is known as, good eye flow. You can achieve this by using books, architectural objects as risers to achieve the high level, then placing the smaller items on either side, to create a gradual raise on either side.
Another way for vignettes, is creating depth. Placing your items from the back to the front. Using a large piece, such as a mirror or large picture, then building your objects in front of that piece. My outdoor mantle, I started with the large architectural object and built out from either side. This creates a sense of dimension. Mix your textures, by using rough, shiny, smooth or weathered items. This all creates a visual affect for your creative vignettes throughout your home.
I hope you find the pictures to be helpful and gives you creative ideas to start your small vignettes around your home.
Sending everyone best wishes for a great day.
Many thanks
