Mini Apple Pies

This is my first time to make little apple pies. I decided to try with a large muffin tin. I used a round cutter, about 4” to fit into the muffin cup.


Makes 12


I made homemade pie dough

Make pie dough from your own recipe, or use 2 pre-made pie crust.

4 apples peeled and chopped into small pieces. Equal about 3 cups.

2 Tbl. Flour

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 c. Sugar

1/4 c. Brown Sugar

1 egg

Sugar for sprinkling on crust


Preheat the oven to 425


If you make your own pie crust recipe, follow the recipe and chill for 30 minutes.

Lightly flour the surface and roll dough out to 1/4” thickness.

Using the round cutter, you want to end up with 12 circles.

Place a circle in the muffin cup, press down and up the sides.


For the filling:

Combine the apples, sugar and brown sugar, cinnamon and flour. Then divide evenly and spoon into the 12 pie dough cups. With the extra pie dough, you can create pie dough tops for the mini pie cups.


Whisk the egg and brush on top, then sprinkle sugar.

Bake about 18-20 minutes.

Let them cool completely before removing them from the muffin pan.


Enjoy with a topping of ice cream!!
