This picture is of our traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins’, but one side dish that has been an added favorite is the Episcopalian Green Beans.
My step mother’s recipe
Episcopalian Green Beans
2 cans (16 oz) cut green beans
2-3 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 c. softened butter
2
Tbl. of prepared mustard
2 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
Drain half the liquid from the cans of beans, and pour the beans and remaining liquid in a saucepan. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Bring to a boil about 20 minutes. Drain
Mix butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce together in a bowl. Pour over the beans, and marinate 6 to 8 hours.
Then reheat the beans till they are warm before serving.
