After seeing this tree photographed many times by many people, made me want to go and find the tree. We traveled to Atkins, Arkansas, where the tree was located.
It is also known as the Bottom Flat Road tree. After arriving in Atkins, we found the road!
After driving along the dirt road, we rounded the curve, and found the tree!
A beautiful old tree, at least a 100 years old.
I’m glad I had the chance to photograph the tree, because sadly, a week later a storm went through Atkins, and the tree over. It was posted on social media, breaking the sad news.
I feel lucky that I might have had one of the last pictures taken of the old tree.
